Of Gratitude and Intentions

I realise it’s the day before New Year’s Eve, and I purposely wanted to reach out to you early, before the celebrations begin, to suggest marking the end of this year with a ritual of gratitude.  Why you ask, especially when this year was even more difficult for so many, and no one is really sorry to see the tail end of it?

The reason is to close out 2021, and to tap into the universal Law of Attraction by focussing on what you are grateful for, so you may attract more of the same in 2022.  Practising an attitude of gratitude trains the brain towards a naturally optimistic outlook, thereby increasing your positive outcomes.  Having a genuine appreciation of all things small and large, which is really an abundance mentality rather than a scarcity mindset, creates a magnetic affect, attracting even more things into your life to be grateful for.

To quote Author Melody Beattie, “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.  It turns what we have into enough, and more.  It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.  It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.  Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

Don’t forget also, to set your intentions for 2022.  Despite what others may say, I believe the most powerful of intentions are a based in wishes.  The difference being, a wish is considered a desire, or a hope for something, and an intention is more grounded in taking a purposeful course of action.

Let me explain further.  Wishing involves leaving it in the hands of the universe or a higher power to bestow that which is wished for.  Being emotionally focussed, a wish is subject to the highs and lows of one’s emotions, such as fear, frustration and disappointment.  An intention on the other hand carries a great deal of power.  When you intend to do something, your body responds more intensely, mentally and physically.  When you set an intention, you have decided, confidently, that your intention will come to fruition, in the best possible way, without the need to force it.  You also have a plan and take regular action toward achieving your intention.

AND if you combine your intentions with the emotional desire of a wish, as long as it comes from the foundation of love and joyfulness, the vibration of your intentions will increase in a positive fashion.  Yes, according to the Law of Vibration, what you send out comes back to you, and as per the previously mentioned Law of Attraction, like attracts like, so you will want to be a magnet for all things good!

It is my intention for you, to find those silver linings from the year that was 2021, to accept them and to be grateful for them, and to find in them what you want more of.  From there you can create amazing intentions to purposefully carry into 2022, and act upon.
